The traditional concept of Desi married life is that the girl marries into the guys family. She as a result becomes part of the guys family. At least in the area I am from, in the past it was a great insult for the man to live with his in laws. Now while I agree the old ways had their faults, spouse abuse and so on, but nowadays I have seen many cases of the opposite extreme. Parents who go out of their way to keep their daughters close to them at the expense of the guy and the marraige and of a increasing automatic dislike of the guys Mother by the wife. guppies comments would be appreciated, I understand I might be generalising. But, the way I look at it from a guys point of view I think these new attitudes do not improve marraiges.
