I posted this suggestion earlier from my nick Nurmah as well. I wanted to just bring that thread up but a search did not yield it so decided to open a new one.
We on GS already mark most important Pakistani occasions, like independence day etc. We also mark religious occassions like Ramzaan, Eid etc. We also just marked Basant.
I wanted to just ask GS admins to somewhere put a link to the official Pakistan government calendar and mark ALL major occasions that come in it, which include
March 23 - Pakistan Day
August 14 - Independence Day
September 6 - Defence Day
September 11 - Death Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah
December 25 - Anniversary of the birth of Quaid-i-Azam
November 9 - Iqbal day is the anniversary of the birth of Allama Iqbal
Depending on moon sightings - Eid and Moharram
Like, right now it is moharram but we did not mark this on GS. There was no banner neither were special threads opened by the mods of the specific forums highlighting the occasion. I think it is important that we do that on atleast the important occasions. Sort of like what PTV does.
I’m not complaining or anything, I’m just saying that we do it already but in a not so organised manner so we end up missing some important occasions, so maybe we should take some more care to be more vigilant about this and incorporate it into the website policy.
