A few months ago we shared a short film titled The Raven, which at the time was making the rounds at studios potentially interested in turning the work into a feature. This has of course been a trend this year, in part thanks to the success of District 9. Now *Latino Review *reports](http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exclusive-hot-short-film-the-raven-lands-at-a-studio-10529) that the project, which will retain Peruvian director Ricardo de Montreuil](http://www.moviefone.com/celebrity/ricardo-de-montreuil/363661/main?icid=movsmartsearch) at the helm, has found a home at Universal. A script is currently being written by Justin Marks (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li) and **Mark Wahlberg **is confirmed to be producing and starring in the adaptation.
If it’s a straight lift and stretch from the short, Wahlberg would presumably play Chris Black, aka The Raven, a telekinetic man on the run for some unknown reason and pursued by police drones that resemble similar flying machines from *Back the Future II *and the *Terminator *films. What else happens besides this is a big mystery, as you can pretty much do anything when basing a film on a single chase scene. I wonder if Montreuil and original co-writer Antonio Perez know more about the character and plot than they put on screen or if Marks is being allowed total freedom to develop the full-length story.
