Re: Mark Boucher - a sad way to leave cricket

One of my favi player :(

Re: Mark Boucher - a sad way to leave cricket

He needed one more dismissal to get to 1,000 in international cricket. Unfortunate way to end his career.

Re: Mark Boucher - a sad way to leave cricket

actually 2 more.

His cricinfo profile is erroneously showing 425 ODI dismisslas instead of 424

HowSTAT (right hand corner) also confirming that

Re: Mark Boucher - a sad way to leave cricket

I’m not even sure this will be matched anytime soon.

Two dropped catches, a couple of missed chances, oh dear.

Re: Mark Boucher - a sad way to leave cricket

I doubt if Boucher's test record (555) will ever be broken

Re: Mark Boucher - a sad way to leave cricket

Yeah, for that to be, it has to be a very young keeper that plays on till late 30s, and in a good bowling side. :hoonh: So that practically rules out pretty much all Asian nations with their batting friendly conditions. Yup, it’s going to be a fair while that these numbers are broken. Nevertheless, this further proves how cruel the game of cricket is - just a dismissal or two here and there and it would have been perfection.

As things stand, he’s still one of the very best wicketkeepers of all times. Just a sad way to go, that’s all.
