One of my VERY CLOSE relative went through all this. She was beaten by her husband at many occasions but she never told this to her parents. She once shared it with my wife and my wife duly told it to her parents.
Her parent met with his parents and God knows what happened in b/w them, but her husband asked her to choose ONE from him or her parents. She opted to stay with him and her hubby strictly restricted her to talk to her parents but good outcome from all this was that after that incident he never raised his hand.
I guess she knew him best and selected to stay with him. Recently ice is melting and he has allowed her to talk to her parents (although he does not talk to them).
I think girls themselves better understand their hubbies and should take decision themselves.
