Just thought I'd share my positive experience with Mariam.
The Sana Safinaz mention attracted my attention and Mariam had a lot of the designed I had admired in the past, in the FB album. I've seen replicas in the past and not been overly impressed, especially with the finishing, and I'm always loathe to venture away from my usual designer. I asked for prices and the quotes for 3-piece stitched with added embellishments were very reasonable. Initially I was just going to order the unstitched fabric and have them stitched by my usual guy as I'm very fussy and find it hard to trust that anyone else will meet similar standards. Mariam assured me that her tailor was very good and since the price difference was not that much, I thought I may as well give the stitching a go too.
I had a positive feeling and went ahead and placed an order for 3 suits - one for me, one for my sister and one for a friend. I gave Mariam a date of the end of March and details for stitching of our two suits. Any of you that know me, know that I am very thorough and expect all the details I note down to be followed. It turned out that my dad was travelling back to the UK via Dubai and at very short notice I asked Mariam if she could give him any of the suits if they were ready. She got mine ready, which was very kind of her.
I just got it last night and it fit beautifully. The stitching is very neat with overlocking. The embellishment is nicely done with pearl beads and crystals like the original photo.
All in all, it has been a very pleasant, straightforward and stress free process. Mariam was always very prompt in replying. If she had not been, I doubt I would have got one outfit early because time would have been lost.
So thank you and I look forward to receiving the others :)
