Re: Mare ko maare Shah Madar
I think i have read this in some book.. Yaad nahin
Re: Mare ko maare Shah Madar
It means, to beat a dead horse. Shah Madaar is a sufi from yesteryears, buried in India…and his nickname was Zinda Shah. The use of his name in the phrase seems to imply two extreme situations.
Re: Mare ko maare Shah Madar
India? which part?
Zinda Shah used to beat dead ones?
Re: Mare ko maare Shah Madar
Sorry I forgot about this thread. According to google, Shah Madaar is buried in Makanpur, UP.
I dont think that the phrase has anything to do with any actual practice of Shah Madaar…rather, its just a play on his name, Zinda Shah. i-e, Marey ko maaray zinda.
Mare ko maare Shah Madar
I never heard this before ![]()
