March Parade; Halted Tradition to be Resumed, finally!

Re: March Parade; Halted Tradition to be Resumed, finally!

Out side … but just a couple of hundred yards from the wall of the base

Yeah its fun watching the Falcons fly around… but sometimes like during the middle of the night i wish for a stinger missile to shut them up :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: March Parade; Halted Tradition to be Resumed, finally!

haha!
best luck managing the subsonic noises :k:

btw, have you ever heard a sonic boom? i wonder what its like witnessing one…

Re: March Parade; Halted Tradition to be Resumed, finally!

Oh Man!
Guys Just watched it…the Parade…and I’m in a bad mood! :frowning:
Why didnt i join the army or the PAF…!? :smack2:

It was amazingly amazing!
Mush came in his white sherwani and Shauki’s sherwani was identical; probably both Amir Adnan!
Karzai appeared very excited. (i heard the afghan military academy is being inaugurated today too…?)
Mush appeared a bit more plump than usual; maybe a flak jacket and leather holder inside the sherwani…?
His speach was good.
ACM Kaleem Saadat played well with his bird, it was awsome to see him do the twists and curls and the salute.
the parade commander Brigadier was a handsome man, looked very young and had a list of distinctions. the parade leader major was from the AK regt i think…? maj Arshad. handsome bloak with handlebar moustache and one hell of a roar! i hope he takes joshanda anbd strepsils tonight though! he was decorated, entire right arm and the para wings too.
the Piffers were the 6FF i think.
Commandoes injected a renewed wave of excitement. Mush was very happy to see them, he hounred them with showing a fist of courage and honour after saluting them.
later the K8s arived and the single one was doing the aerobaticsflown by Sqn ldr someone, and my electricicty went!
later it came back sooner than expected and i just saw the last F16 on the salute leaving…this was a surprise as i hadnt expected more air display. i wonder what happeneed between the K8 and the last F16, anyone please share experience.
all the missiles were displayed.
and, the new uniform criteria is still not clear to me…i was thinking troosp would wear it, but was glad to see the original traditional beloved khaki. i wonder what the policy is regarding the new camos…? are they only for day to day wear and will replace khaki for operational outdoor duties/ exercises in field etc. whatever they do i just hope they NEVER ‘phase out the khaki’…khaki is khaki!
a new force came behind the sindh rangers and they said they were the ‘mujahid force’ they wore the new green camos…i wonder what they are…?
i noticed, the FC and the punjab rangers were not present, some other was missing too, cant make out who yet…
then i’d say history was made…the SSG para jumpers were lead by non other than the Commandant SSG Maj Gen Amir Faisal Alvi! That was AMAZING! he became the first general to ever command a team of jumpers like this his jump wasnt as impressive as that of other guys, but it was too windy too and his act was great. Mush was very excited and Maj gen Alvi went to salute him and present the flag, Mush hugged him.
there was a kasmir float before the northern areas float so, those who afraid that mush has compromised on kashmir for india’s benefit ought to take notice…
it was great and all ended too soon!

cant wait for next year already!

Re: March Parade; Halted Tradition to be Resumed, finally!

Haris- You sound like a Pak Army press release :Salute:

i assume you come from a military family/area?

Re: March Parade; Halted Tradition to be Resumed, finally!

:hehe: thanks threaldeal,
i love the armed forces alot!

Re: March Parade; Halted Tradition to be Resumed, finally!

I used to be like you in that sense as well, when I was a teenager, then I realized all the corrupt dirt the Army gets up to.

Anyways you won;t believe me, you'll see it on your own, sooner or later, if you choose to

Re: March Parade; Halted Tradition to be Resumed, finally!

hmm, i guess to some extent i do know what goes on...but i try look at the full half of the glass in this case...cause those who do good in the armed forces deserve much more than we can ever thank them for. bad sheep are everywhere, the good soldiers give us so much that we ought to keep ourselves from weighing them all in the same scale...and i hope they dont shatter our hopes and trusts...

Ditto & well said Haris!

Great job Bro,;):k:

Re: March Parade; Halted Tradition to be Resumed, finally!

There is no doubt that here are good people in the Army, just like there are good, heroic people in the Police,Civil Service, etc.

However the points is, it is the Army that has directly and indirectly forcibly controlled Pakistan throughout its history, and thus will be judged more directly.

Pak Army personnel do no more for a country than Armies of any other country in the world, in fact it is arguable that they have done much damage to Pakistan. Yet they get so many official and unofficial 'benifit's.

I'm sure there was a time when the majority of people joining the Arny joined for the same reason people joined the Army in other decent countries, such as patriotism, adventure, etc, however for the last few decades the majority pf people joining the Pak army join because they see it as a career that will give them money, power and making them 'untouchable'.

Until the Army stops using the guns the people of Pak gave them, to rule over the people of Pak, and actually become a professional army that concentrates only on military matters, it will be viewed with distrust/suspicion/dislike by many Pakistanis.
