But Bijapur might be in Maratha’s neighbour, because historian report that Shiva ji had to fight both against Bijapur and Aurangzeb.

Deccan region is very vast. It includes interior Maharastra, vidharba, telengana, Northern Karnataka(including Bijapur), Rayalseema and Mysore region.
Shivaji defeated Bijapur’s Sultanete forces in Battle of Pratapgrah.It was their first significant military victory against a major regional power, and led to the eventual establishment of the Maratha Empire.
