Why do they call themselves Kurashis? I had Marasi, people living near me and everyone call them Kurashis, and my family was like “don’t call them Marasi they will find it offensive” and I was like thinking, well they are Marasi’s why not call them Marasi’s.
Anyone know whats the deal with that?

we call them doomrey, i see they are considered lowly in all parts of pakistan.
they disguise themselves as singers and dancers but their main income is prostitution, most artists which we see on pakistani tv usually come from such family background that’s why people like meera and her family feel no shame in her kissing a hindu guy, that too on screen.

So Marasi women, are sluts? well this may sound crazy, but once I was in Pakistan, and I was young then about (19) am 22 now. Anyway, there was a shop (aty) near my house and I used to talk to the owner (young guy) and this marasi girl walked past and I didn’t know she was marasi and she look so good looking, it was amazing she was very pretty. And the shopkeep told me, the next time she walks past follow her and tell her to meet you at this place at this time.
So I thought yeah why not, the shopkeeper told me she was abit of a rundi, and I belived him, so the next time she came I followed her, and I said to her meet me at this place at this time, she turned around looked at me and then she showed me her chapal the bottom of her chappal and I didn’t know what that ment.
So I told the guy and he started laughing, he said that is an insult at you, so do this. The next time she walks past pull her into the shop and I will go away and don’t let go of her and kiss her and stuff at this point I thought this guy is crazy, and I stoped going to his shop anyway. That girl (marasi) she told me uncles daughter what I said to her, and my uncles daughter she gave me a right lecture about it. But the funny thing was after that, like all the girls in the village would just walk past my house all the time, and sometimes I would be walking and a group of marasi girls would whistle at me, and stuff like that.
Once there was a wedding, and everyone was walking in the tight street, and I ended up at the back with all the girls, and the marasi girls were touching me and stuff. And then my uncles son told me, he said that I am crazy and that these are marasi girls, this is a big disrespect to our family, if you want to have sex with them then just take one of them into the field and do it, no one will say anything to you, but don’t like be all in (ishq) with them, and don’t give them any money. I used to give one of the girls 21 thousend rupees everyday, she told me she was poor and stuff. And my uncles son was like, are you mental or something, you’ve been giving her, 21 thoudsend rupees almost everyday for a whole 3 months, and you haven’t even taken her (suthan) off yet? everyone thinks abouot sex there, I was helping her about she was poor thats why. Crazy.

These issues are not only stagnant to particular cultures or races. I met meny prostitutes on a regular basis who were Pathanis. These problems face all cultures and societies, just pretending it doesn’t happen will not make it go away. And making retarded comments like that just makes you look like atypical pathan idoit.

hey soomro's are sindhi and some live in punjab as well and have their caste as soomra but the majority of them are sindhis.

Marasi are a singing dancing caste. A lot of famous singers come from this caste.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was a Marasi.
Daler Mahendi is a Marasi.
A couple of famous punjabi bhangra singers are Mirasi.
