Gaon ka Insaan ab bhi subh subh khuda ki hamd karta hai aur Arabi ki mushkil ibaarat na jante huwe bhi lehak lehak kar Quran ki tilawat karta hai iss yaqeen ke sath ke ye Allah ka kalaam hai.

Rules:**

• Participant will describe the details of an image in meaningful manner (sentence structure, vocabulary etc).
• Manzar Kashi should be one paragraph and must have meaningful title.
• Story should be at least 100 words, and maximum 200 words.
• Your writing skills will be judged by three independent members.
• The language of competition is URDU/Roman Urdu

Toota Hua Engine

Baba kaha karte thay, insaan ki pehchaan uske kirdaar ki mazbooti se hoti hai. Dhoop ho ya chaon, himmat-e-mardaan aur madad-e-Khuda. Sachi lagan, un-thak mehnat aur Farhad ke jaisa hausla ho tu hum chattaanoN ko bhi qadmoN main gira sakte hain. Subah se shaam tak nit-nayi gaariyon pe auzaar kastay kastay, teelay sa yeh jism bazaahir faulaad ban gaya hai. Lekin mann hi mann, ik tees chubhti rehti hai. Shor-o-sharaabay ke mahool main, mere andar chupa sannaata aankhon se bayaan hota hai. Baba ki tarah, duniya ne bhi meri taraf se rukh mor liya hai, jaise koi puraani khataara ko kaarigar ke haathon bech deta hai. Tail se rangay pairoN ki siyaahi ab maa nazar-andaaz kar deti hai. Baba kehte thay, jiska koi nahi hota, uska Khuda hota hai. Phir main khud ko tootay engine sa kyun mehsoos karta hon? Baba jo kehte thay, sach hi tu kehte thay. Phir main khud ko zameen main dhansa hua kyon paata hon?

Lovely entries and example posts but I'm sorry guys, I'll have to disqualify myself as I would never be able to write creative Urdu even if my life depended on it. I'm more than happy for someone to use my name to enter and write a really mind blowing entry and I'll be kind enough to share the prize with them.

aww thank you! Growing up, I always wanted to go into Urdu literature/journalism/teaching on the side. When I came to Canada, I looked up Urdu classes at Uni level. Seeing as how multicultural Toronto is, you would think that there would be some. I was so angry when I learned that they offer Hindi but not Urdu. I wish I had more knowledge of Urdu adab. There is so much I don’t know. Perhaps someday fursat main =)

Yeh hath kalam ki seeyahi se nahi...din raat ki mehnat se kalay hoye...in gariyun mein guzarterty malikon kay bachy jab hathun mein basty thamay hoye hoty hain...tu dil se awaz aati hy...mera basta kahan hy...mein bhi tu dekhon..school kiya hota hy...mein bhi tu dekhon..class kiya hoti hy..teacher kasey hoty hain...kitsbein..kapyan kasi hoti hy...mein in hathon se likhna chahta hun jin ankhun ney sirf in garyun kay purzey dekhein hasrat se roz in bachun kay basty dekh kay tarasti hain...kay kabhi mein bhi school jaonga...kabhi mein bhi likhunga in hathun se...kabhi mein bhi sunaonga alif se Allah..b se bismillah...tay se taqwa...

Urdu is my second language. Growing up I never read any urdu novels and my knowledge of urdu literature on a scale of 1 to 10 is at about -3. I cannot hope to compete with any of you urdudaans. But here's my piece anyway.

Hello,

I've been asked to participate in this competition and I appreciate that, but I'm afraid my creative Urdu isn't good and to be very honest, I really don't know what a 'manzar kashi' exercise should really look like. I'm assuming it's like describing an image. Just to be on the same side, I would appreciate if someone can do a little demo of manzar kashi with a different image just so I can get an idea. I promise I am a fast learner.

That'll be an insult to the competition and participants’ efforts. I should be able to write something given how closely I follow Pakistani politics and genuinely appreciate the language.

Mere maa baap ne bhi ye nahin chaha tha. unki aankhen mere roshan mustaqbil ke sapnon se jagmagati thin.. lekin wo ye hasrat liye hi iss dunia se chale gae.

BaRe behn bhai apne apne ghar aur bachon main aise uljhe ke maa baap ne jo mere baare main khwab dekhe the wo kabhi tabeer ko na puhunch sake. Lekin unka bhi kia qasoor.. suna hai mehngai ne to halaal haraam ka farq mita dia hai. her cheez ki tarah taleem bhi mehngi hai.. log apna pet kaat kar hi bachon ko mehnge school bhijwa sakte hain. mere jaise bin maa baap ke bachon ko sarkari school main bhi padhne ko mil jae to ghaneemat hai. Bhaiyon ne mujhe iss workshop main kaam dilwa dia hai, jahan main school se chutti ke baad raat tak kaam karta hoon. sham bhar jab tail aur grease ki siyahi main hath rangta hoon, tabhi iss qabil hota hoon ke apni kitabon, qalam siyahi aur school ki fees ka kharcha utha sakoon.
