Is this person your manager or a colleague? you will have to adapt to different strategies with either of them. If its the manager , then exactly what X2 said and also what RV suggested. That is the route forward.
if its a colleague, then you just try to keep it professional with them , if they start becoming irrational, stop the conversation before it gets nasty. Try to find a common ground on which both can operate.
If all else fails , involve a third person to help you both find common ground or rules of interaction .
