What Mannerisms do you follow or are followed at your home?

E.g

  • we take off our shoes when entering carpetted areas
  • i make sure i put a coaster before putting a glass or cup on a table
  • the bed is always made properly during the day

That sort, what else?

  • we all dance through the long corridor at my mum’s place
  • house is all tiled, but still take our shoes off outside
  • rubber thongs outside the bathroom door, only for bathroom use

erm,

ok in the uk, when i was living alone, i made sure no one came into my carperted area with shoes,

only wear slippers inside house,

eatt on the table never on sofa ( husband would sulk about this when his football was on and so refused to eat!)

house has to be tiody, even though no one at home during day except me.

i had a ritual of cleaning, cooking, going out, then having cup of tea with chocolate infrnt of tv same time daily.

Nice one. V also did the same put off shoes while.on carpet.
V hv a time table for bf, lunch and dinner. And always everyone should do the same time altogether. Oonly at bf v sometime dont do .
Friday , everyone has to take shower and read jumma at any cost.

haha yeah plastic table cloth over our pretty cloth one yes :smiley:

and we have carpets around the house and house is tiled too but no shoes allowed inside at all. (no culture of wearing shoes where i live)
theyre taken off outside. my dad gets annoyed as he thinks shoes are dirty, and he prays in the rooms/living rooms. at times when guests bring their shoes in, we have a massive floor clean up afterwards lol.

food is always cooked and every one eats at different times cuz of schedules. we dont often have sit down dinners together as a family any more. food can be eaten any where, including in front of tv or rooms. (i would like to change this when i have my own home, my parents do not mind this at all but i rather every one eat together)

@nadz… my rubber thongs i meant chappals.. but i just realised that in some parts of the world, thongs are something different

well I have this rule never leave dirty dishes in sink.
place your dishes in sink when you are done with eating (for huby)
place your toys back at here place (for baby though she never follows)
no sleeping after 6:30pmin the evening and n by midnight both father n daughter should be in bed

I can’t stand it when people leave the doors to the bathrooms opened … they have to be close at all time or else I find my daughter standing in the bathroom soaked in toilet water ulties. So that’s a rule in my house and I make sure husband follows it. Same goes with the toilet seat being down unless you r sitting on it.

Everyone eats dinner together at the table. Dishwasher is loaded and run before bed so I have clean dishes in the morning.
No shoes on the carpet, ever!
Hmmm, what else?

My cousin did one thng with kids. She hide some toys and said to her kids that u dont place ur toys back so i hv given ur toys to maid. Nw thy kept toys in place. U try this tip . Hopefully it helps

We have slipper the wear when u r at home. And changed when u go out. Parents dont like to walk bare footed. As bed or sofa cover will dirty.

Try to never leave kitchen or pots dirty at night. Here my elders said shaitan stay at home overnight and do potw dirty. Dont make fun of it. I myself dont knw is it reality or just myth. But mostly poeple say it right .

More at my place:

  • I try to switch off the lights of which ever room I leave
  • Dining table is completely clean once any meal is done with (we both pick up the dishes right after)
  • Every time I come in the living room, I fix the cushions .. that’s just my thing :stuck_out_tongue:
