NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who received US President George Bush at the airport in breach of protocol, was reportedly frisked by American agents when he was allowed to approach the president.

The media was kept out of sight and hence could not see the incident, but BJP vice president and member of parliament Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi later told the media that it was an insult and humiliation for the nation to allow foreigners to check the Indian prime minister in his own land.

Unprecedented security arrangements have been made for Bush who arrived here for a three-day visit on Wednesday. US Secret Service agents, camping in New Delhi for the last two months, have virtually sealed off the Maurya Sheraton hotel, which is hosting the visiting president. The adjoining hotels have also been taken over by US and Indian security officials. Both carriageways of the roads used by Bush’s motorcade will be closed for traffic.

Before Air Force One landed at the technical area of the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Indian Air Force aircrafts carried an aerial recce. A team of US officials also visited hospitals in the national capital to carry out checks and identify facilities to deal with an emergency.

At least four helicopters were brought to Delhi from the US a couple of weeks ago as were several cars, including some limousines, which will be used by Bush for travel within the city.

I haven't heard this at all in India media and nobody has made big issue about it. If its the case it will hit the headlines..... :-)) and it will be good fun reading.
Since lots of people made big noise in India about an Indian Minister being frisked in US....... So if its true its going to be interesting story, which has just started..........

Indians normally don't make a squeak and keep it in the dark until someone else blows the cover .. When George Fernandes was on official visit to US with full protocol he was strip searched at Dulles airport twice.. The world only found out when Strobe Talbot published his book and blew the cover... Same with KGB when India was sold cheap dime a dozen to Russkies, it was revelead by a former KGB officer when he published his book...

Did you not feel for a plit second that ot may have been maliciously planted to make India look bad, or are you genuinely that gullible? I don’t think it really happened. Nobody can frisk Indian PM in India.
If it really happened :mad: then make bush travel from Delhi to mumbai in the passenger train. Train bully Hijras will frisk him through out his journey.:cb:

Dude you just take too much pains to paint Bhaarhat in a good light. They did it to Fernandes and we got to know about it like after a decade that too only when Fernandes chose to reveal the humilating happenings. The Indian media wouldn’t have even caught the whiff of it. Same goes for this incident.

I’d just say that Bush really knows how to put people in their place :cb:

Indian papers are stating that this frisking episode was witnessed by a BJP leader, and then reported on a tv channel. How humiliating.

NEW DELHI - How should a nation, which also happens to be the world’s largest democracy and the bedrock of the global information-technology revolution, react when faced with news that the country’s defense minister has been “strip-searched”, not once, but twice, during trips to the United States? Is it a national shame that should engender jingoistic anti-US reactions, or should one just feel sorry for world’s most powerful country having lost its head given its insecurity over the “war on terror” and the fiasco in Iraq?

The “disrobing” has been described by former US deputy secretary of state Strobe Talbott in his new book Engaging India - Diplomacy, Democracy and the Bomb in which the author writes that George Fernandes, India’s former defense minister (under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government) was strip-searched twice in Washington, DC’s Dulles Airport, once on a visit to the US capital and again en route to Brazil. On both occasions Fernandes was the incumbent minister. Talbott says Fernandes himself angrily apprised him about the incidents when he visited India this February as part of a delegation.

Absolute BS. Whatever goes on in Pak, rarely is ever the Indian establishment implicated, though it’s the easiest target. You’re just bullcraping and that too in the wrong section of the net. Have some sense dude :rolleyes:

And avoid using hindi slang or whatever it is coz it doesn’t make sense at all. Besides it looks very sick.
