Men dont want to deal with manipulations unnecessarily.
Its a bit naive to say men are simple creatures and dont understand things between the lines and are not into manipulating, allowing others to manipulate them. Its a daily occurance in work, workign with clients, partners, peers, seniors, juniors..contractors, you name it.
One has to pick up the prince by Machiavelli or the art of war by sun tzu to get an idea of how men can manipulate.
I think in relationships of trust ..family, friends, etc .manipulation, cryptic signals etc add a layer of stress that men dont want to bother with
