Anyone know how to do a professional manicure at home? What products do you recommend? Does it end up being that much cheaper than getting them done?
Are some products unavailable in the market without a license?

Re: Manicures
PCG, is this for a wedding (as in wedding related manicures) or I can move this thread to fashion & beauty where it will be best suited?

Re: Manicures

Re: Manicures
Pweez move this to fashion n booty thanks :@:
Re: Manicures
I dont wear fake nails but definitely make sure to give myself manicures ever week or so.
What I have collected over the course of time:
Nail clippers
Cuticle trimmers
Cuticle stick
Cuticle oil
Lotion
A good scrub
Hot water
Nail file with multiple edges...course...fine...smooth
Nail polish
Clear coat
How I do mine:
I first clip my nails to the length I want them at and file them into the desired shape with the course edge of the nail file.
Apply some cuticle oil to your cuticles and then soak them in the hot water to help soften them.
Clip/trim cuticles using the clippers (this may take some time to master because you're actually cutting them off. Be careful not to cut yourself. It doesnt hurt because its dead skin so dont worry about that.
Buff and smooth the surface of your nails so when the polish goes on, you dont see any rigdes.
Make sure the edges are also smooth and no jagged edges are exposed.
Apply your scrub and really work it in to slough off dead skin...wash off and apply lotion.
Paint and seal with top coat.
everyone’s after the thread location

It is ![]()
Makes your hands super-soft! You can get the parrafin in stores and you just have to heat it over a double-boiler and brush-on. (check the temp and don’t burn yourself)
Re: Manicures
where I go they use something like this

Re: Manicures
how do you do french tip nails at home? That's what I wanted to know.
Re: Manicures
^
PCG put a coat of clear nail polish on the nails once they're dry try and try to do a curve like shape at the upper part of the nail with white nail polish. Make sure the curve is thin.
Re: Manicures
Okay, I dont really do french tips but I have done them a few times...
I did everything I listed above but then instead of polish, I had white nail polish and clear coat.
I used scotch tape and put it on the part of my nail I DIDN'T want to be painted white...did the white part and waited until it dried. Took off the tape and finished off with clear coat.
Thats the only way I could do it because otherwise I wasnt getting a clean and straight white line along the top.
Put-on a base-coat to protect u're nails and then a neutral color like a nude beige... use stencils they can be found everywhere! Stick them on and use the white on the tips.. go over with your clear varnish and voila! Purtttttyyy french tips!
