I have a few questions regarding mangnis & rasams involved:
-What things does the guy’s family normally send for the girl? about 6-7 formal/informal dresses including the engagement dress? cosmetics? undergarments? perfumes? shoes?
-My parents are planning to gift my bro’s fiance a gold set on the engagement, so should we send any artificial set with her clothes when we send the clothes?
-What does the girl’s side normally gift to the guy’s family - parents, brothers, sisters?
-For people who are fair, where should they get really neutral light make up for engagement?
-if the girl’s family is hosting the mangni event, how many guests is a normal number to take?

I just got the engagement ring :( Sad but true. We gave one suit each to my MIL, one jaithani, two SIL's, one mumani, one BIL, FIL and mamoon. I thought they will bring something because thats how its done, but they didnt, and my mum asked me to forget about it and not make an issue.

Typically, the guys' side takes the ring, maybe a set and a suit for immediate family members.
It also depends on how much they can afford and how big the families they're gifting are. If you have 9 brothers and sisters, that might be hard to do and instead of gifting just a few, they might gift one very nice thing to mother, father and bride-to-be.
Ive never been one to really focus on these things so I didnt care what I got. I think I got a set and some clothes...no perfume or anything else I believe.
In our family for an engagement the girl gets a ring and the boys gets something too but neither the girls family members nor the guys family members get anything....is that weird?? bc looks like we are the only ones doing that.... hmmmm!
i got engagement suit & matching set, ring also i other suit with artificial set , we gave suits to 4 suits, gift for sister in law, 4 shirts , also engagement ring and cufflinks for the guy
I got a gorgeous diamond ring from my fiance... ring of my dreams :D My inlaws gave me 2 very formal dresses - I wore one of them on my engagement. They came with matching accessories (chooriyan, shoes, clutch, and lotion). My MIL also gave me a set. SIL and her hubby gave me money and perfume.
My parents also gave me a very formal dress.... wore that one in beginning part of the engagement :D
My parents gave my fiance a designer watch, cologne, shirt + tie, and a hoodi (he luvs them). My little brothers and sister all pitched in and got him a cologne as well which my youngest brother presented him at the engagement with a "welcome to the family bhai" and a handshake. So cute ... he's 10 yrs old!
I gifted (yes... strange for paki standards... but not a big deal in my opinion. He got me the ring afterall) my fiance with some really beautiful cashmere sweaters, cufflinks, and winter scarf & hat. :)
My parents also gave his bro, bil, and his dad shirts with ties. They gave his mom and sister unstiched formal suits and pashmeena shawls.
