So my cousin had a book thrown at her by her mananger at a property agency she works for because she made a mistake or something. He’s done it once before but gave her a written apology.
What can she do
This is UK.

Jackpot!! Its a straightforward lawsuit. There is no way he can defend himself. And i dont see any repercussion either. your cousin can turn this lawsuit either way i mean as hard as she wants.
Re: manager hits employee
So what is the next step?
Re: manager hits employee
Don't you have a law degree nadz? Shouldn't you know what to do lol
Re: manager hits employee
Well the first question is wut does yr cousin want exactly? As I said she can take it either way.
A) contact HR to make a official complaint (or whoever the recuriter/superior is)
B) wait for 2 days, most likely she'll receive an official apology.
Now if she accepts apology, things will move on and wait till she gets hit next time.
Else if she doesnt accept apology:
C) Contact lawyer (or even file a lawsuit herself) I'm sure in britian its not that difficult to fill in the paperwork to file a lawsuit. Make sure she has all the timestamps and other detail note down
but if they contact lawyer they'll be in a better shape as they'll tell exactly how far they can go
Re: manager hits employee
Ask her to throw the book at him.

Rather ask her to return her book :D
Re: manager hits employee
why did she not take appropriate action the first time?
Re: manager hits employee
Contact a lawyer.
Re: manager hits employee
Any chance your friend meant it in a figurative way? I mean you say she made a mistake.
If she meant it literally, contact a lawyer first.
Re: manager hits employee
Be play full. Bring a sling shot, with marbles.
