What is manning up? Can someone define to me what is manning up?
Is it something when you husband stands up to his mother just because dearest DIL don’t want to cook roast chicken instead of lasagna ?
Or
Is it something when a son stands against his family just because he decided to marry a girl whom he just know for only 2 months ?
Or
Is it something when you start marrying divorced ladies?

Manning up (in scenario mentioned above) is basically being fair and standing up for something that is just instead of abiding by what is expected of you under the cloak of lehaaz or inkisaari to pacify one party. I

liHaaz and Khayaal is due on us when it comes matters relating to parents. we have an obligation to love and respect our parents. This is Allah's order...there is no ifs and buts.
having said that, it also doesn't mean that you ignore your wife. what it really means is to strike a balance and find a compromise. both have their rights and privileges. we should treat both with, love, respect and dignity.

Not asking for Jahaiz, not expecting your wifes family to support you, protect and care for the person that made a huge sacrifice for you and left everything behind for you, care for the woman that will carry your child and make him a man from a child. Make your own decisions in life, stand up against social evil, yes if your own immediate family is abusive towards a help less human being than stand up to them. Basically what you and your mom don't want for your sister, don't wish them on someone else's sister. A man is strong, caring, gentle and giving. mouse yells, screams and hurts people weaker than him.

Btw regardless of how long the son has known a girl it's still HIS choice which is final when it comes to who he wants to marry.. Considering how many arranged matches are agreed to after just 1 meeting in person not sure what's so shocking about wanting to marry someone after 'only' 2 months either..
