Re: MAN-O-SALWA

^ lagta kuch aisaa he hai. :hehe:

Well agar ho sakay to repeat mein zaroor daikhna. Last scene ki her move kafi suspensive hai.
Karam, Zaini ko Apni Amma k pass lay ker jata hai or kehta hai k wo us say shadi kerna chata hai. Us ki maan or bhai Zaini per ilzam wagaira lagatay hain or ussay degrade kertay hain. Wo us per muqadmay ka ilzam lagatay hain, or Karam bhi us per trust nahe kerta. Zaini wahan say chali jati hai or phir apnay flat per ja ker suicide ker laiti hai. Thats it… THE END! Or Karam khara daikhta he reh jata hai.

Re: MAN-O-SALWA

I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the last episode. The behavior of Karam and Zaini in the last episode was antithesis of what they were all about in the whole story.

It appears that the author had an end in mind - no happiness for Zaini, a tragic end for her. And by God, she was going to get it by hook or crook, no matter what the characters were telling her and where they had led her. She employed the standard hackneyed tricks to get from the penultimate episode to the the ending she wanted in the last episode.

How can Karam, who was very good person, extremely loyal (how he handled the whole Zari episode) and totally in love with Zaini....how can this individual who also knows Zaini so well, he character, her traumas, her life etc....be so shocked by a ridiculous accusations (that too about film contracts) made by his brother against Zaini.

Most importantly, how could he have let Zaini go when clearly she was appealing to him. What was the doubt? that she was after his money? Why she is the one individual who has consistently rejected his money? and he knew it! Yet he turned his back on her! ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Compare how he handled Zari - a wife who was cheating on him, stealing from him, with how he handled Zaini - the one person who has been honest with him from the beginning and cared about him till the end.

@@###!!$$!!. And he was even willing to consider re-marrying Zari after she became a prostitute, knowing that he loved Zaini. What the #$$#%@!!!

The author had an end in mind - punish Zaini with the ultimate pain. Remarrying Zari would not have accomplished it. She had to show that Karam abandoning her just as Shiraaz so that becomes extremely dejected and kills herself.

(Sarcasm alert!) She had to be killed ofcourse! She had become an ACTRESS! Oh my God, what an irredeemable sinner. She had the audacity to fight back at the world that had mistreated it, use their rules to beat them at their game!
Oh the SHAME! she did not deserve any happiness.
Her sisters who while condemning her, benefited from her are good souls. They deserve their happiness. So do Karam's selfish, greedy, soulless family.
But not Zaini - why, she is an ACTRESS!
(end sarcasm)

All I can say is that the ending was completely incongruent with the rest of the story, its characters etc. I would go far enough to say that the author committed fraud with the story.

And I am not saying this because Karam and Zaini did not get a happy ending. The author could have achieved the same objective - Karam and Zaini parting - with other storylines more true to these characters. For instance, Zaini could have not accepted Karam's proposal and walked off his life.

The author showed paucity in her imagination and generosity!

Re: MAN-O-SALWA

Miss Mod has edited your post... :)

Re: MAN-O-SALWA

That was what I was thinking too. One vote with me.
I'm not happy with the end either.

Re: MAN-O-SALWA

Perhaps UA wants to show us that almost all men in our society are the same, having same conservative thinking at the end of the day!!!

Perhaps this is what the writer wanted to bring to the fore. Just becasue she was an actress she was according to our notions of morality and self-righteousness condemned to lead a low-key life like of an anonymous person. On the other extreme, such people after acheiving the fame and after being used and abused by people around them end their life.

But I for once thought that she will either walk away from his life after being proposed or the writer will give a new twist to the story. This was indeed hackeneyed but then it was closer to the ground realities.

I was saddened to see Karam's reaction to his family's allegations against Zaini. What a schmuck! One moment he was dying to marry her and the other moment, he couldnt even stand beside Zaini in her hour of need.

Khair, all in all, a good story, very nice and professional acting, camera work was nt bad either and one more thing, Zaini was no " Nargis" of Sohha Jora fame... Resham conducted herself fairly well, her poise, dressing and acting showed remarkable maturity.

Re: MAN-O-SALWA

ok i am confusd....did man o salwa end??
what happened in the end!??!

Re: MAN-O-SALWA

ok i just went back and read what happened.........

well i was diasspointed too to hear that but honestly, it's not that far fetched to me that a typical guy would listen this family like that

Re: MAN-O-SALWA

My point is throughout the story, Karam was shown to be completely different from a typical male - the lone individual who shows that there is still hope, goodness in the world.

He was almost a saint, never raising his voice, always looking for the good in face of continuous betrayal by Zari and his family, and unquestioningly giving them all the benefit of the doubt.

Had he been a typical male, he would have treated Zari differently (he even fought his family when they were throwing Zari out of his house upon discovery of her cheating). Upon discovering her being a prostitute, he was entertaining thoughts of remarrying her to save her.
He even was angry with Parizad for classing him as a typical male when she came to Australia the first time.

And all of a sudden, this guy does a 180 degree turn on you and turns into a typical male all based upon some ridiculous accusations that could be seen coming miles away. What a piece of crock!

Well, no more dramas for me :-)!
