Re: MAN-O-SALWA
I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the last episode. The behavior of Karam and Zaini in the last episode was antithesis of what they were all about in the whole story.
It appears that the author had an end in mind - no happiness for Zaini, a tragic end for her. And by God, she was going to get it by hook or crook, no matter what the characters were telling her and where they had led her. She employed the standard hackneyed tricks to get from the penultimate episode to the the ending she wanted in the last episode.
How can Karam, who was very good person, extremely loyal (how he handled the whole Zari episode) and totally in love with Zaini....how can this individual who also knows Zaini so well, he character, her traumas, her life etc....be so shocked by a ridiculous accusations (that too about film contracts) made by his brother against Zaini.
Most importantly, how could he have let Zaini go when clearly she was appealing to him. What was the doubt? that she was after his money? Why she is the one individual who has consistently rejected his money? and he knew it! Yet he turned his back on her! ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Compare how he handled Zari - a wife who was cheating on him, stealing from him, with how he handled Zaini - the one person who has been honest with him from the beginning and cared about him till the end.
@@###!!$$!!. And he was even willing to consider re-marrying Zari after she became a prostitute, knowing that he loved Zaini. What the #$$#%@!!!
The author had an end in mind - punish Zaini with the ultimate pain. Remarrying Zari would not have accomplished it. She had to show that Karam abandoning her just as Shiraaz so that becomes extremely dejected and kills herself.
(Sarcasm alert!) She had to be killed ofcourse! She had become an ACTRESS! Oh my God, what an irredeemable sinner. She had the audacity to fight back at the world that had mistreated it, use their rules to beat them at their game!
Oh the SHAME! she did not deserve any happiness.
Her sisters who while condemning her, benefited from her are good souls. They deserve their happiness. So do Karam's selfish, greedy, soulless family.
But not Zaini - why, she is an ACTRESS!
(end sarcasm)
All I can say is that the ending was completely incongruent with the rest of the story, its characters etc. I would go far enough to say that the author committed fraud with the story.
And I am not saying this because Karam and Zaini did not get a happy ending. The author could have achieved the same objective - Karam and Zaini parting - with other storylines more true to these characters. For instance, Zaini could have not accepted Karam's proposal and walked off his life.
The author showed paucity in her imagination and generosity!
