Why Nawaz Sharif called Man-Mohan Singh a Dehati Aurat? Context?
Was that a tribute to dehati aurat or Nawaz Sharif made a mistake and annoyed people on other side of border?

خبروں کے مطابق مسٹر نواز شریف نے ہندوستانی اور پاکستانی صحافیوں سے ’آف ریکارڈ‘ بات چیت کے دوران مبینہ طور پر کہا تھا کہ جب مسٹر منموہن سنگھ نےصدر براک اوباما سے ملاقات کے دوران پاکستان کی شکایت کی تو یہ بات ایسے ہی تھی جیسے کوئی دیہاتی عورت اپنے ذاتی اختلافات میں دوسرے لوگوں کو شامل کرلیتی ہے۔
یہ بات سینئر پاکستانی صحافی حامد میر نے ’لیک‘ کی ** لیکن اس ملاقات میں موجود این ڈی ٹی وی کی ایڈیٹر برکھا دت کا کہنا ہے کہ نواز شریف نے یہ بات اس انداز اور سیاق و سباق میں نہیں کہی تھی جس میں اب یہ پیش کی جا رہی ہے اور یہ کہ یہ بات مذاق میں کہی گئی تھی۔**

Whether he was called a village women or not, it should never be used as a slur. I have seen many uneducated/less educated women work harder than then anyone even the men in their family and sacrificing so much so their kids can lead a better life. What is with our culture creating slurs about women? Physical strength is the only thing in this world. Mothers are the most powerful personalities cos they shape their children's personalities. William Ross Wallace got it right with his poem "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world".

Exactly.. Reason for opening a thread in culture forum for this issue is why hardworking and down to earth rural women were generalized as backbiters. Its a human psyche to do dirty laundry of others (irrespective of their gender and where they belong - rural or urban parts).

He probably meant that at least a woman from village can act like that and may be justified for not being very polished and educated, but why Mr. Manmohan Singh?
