ROME, Italy (Reuters) – A Macedonian man left his wife at an Italian service station and only realized he had driven off without her six hours later, news agency Ansa said.
The couple, who were travelling with their 4-year-old daughter, pulled over for petrol in the coastal city of Pesaro as they were heading back to their home to Germany.
After filling the tank, the husband drove away – without noticing that his 30-year-old wife, originally from Georgia, had got out of the car to go to the toilet.
The woman, who had no money or documents with her, contacted the police who eventually traced her husband to Milan, some 340 km (210 miles) north of Pesaro, Ansa said.
The husband told police he had not missed his wife because she always sat in the back of the car with their daughter.
what's the big deal. I left my sister at the gas station once. Lot of time you just zone out and forget what's going on around you. Besides, I came back after only 10 minutes.
And I was laughing at my cousin who only forgot the lid after tanking, while filling the car with petrol he put the lit on top of the car and forgot it there, paid for the petrol and we all left. When he parked the car later and we all got out, we noticed the lid miraculously still on top of the car.
But after this news, I will never laugh at my cousin again. :)
I paid the gas station for gas once and drove off without filling the gas. I went back in the evening to see if the guy still remembered, he said that was the first time anyone had done that so he wouldn;t be forgetting any time soon :D
We have the option of going to the cashier and paying in cash prior to filling in gas if one doesn;t wish to pay by credit/debit card. In that case the cashier controls the gas pump and shuts it off when u have reached the amount u have paid for.
