**A man has been charged with the rape and murder of British teacher Lindsay Ann Hawker, who was found buried in a sand-filled bath in Japan.**The family of Miss Hawker, 22, from Brandon, near Coventry, said Japanese student Tatsuya Ichihashi, 30, had been charged with the crimes.
Her body was found at Mr Ichihashi’s Tokyo flat in March 2007.
The Leeds University graduate was teaching English at Koiwa school in Tokyo when she went missing.
Mr Ichihashi was accused of the offences by police in Japan who arrested him last month after he allegedly went on the run for more than two-and-a-half years.
Miss Hawker’s father, Bill. said his family were “relieved” the prime suspect would now face trial.
