***KARACHI: **A minor girl was murdered by her neighbour in Landhi area, police said on Thursday.
Sakina, 11, a student of seventh class and resident of Landhi, was murdered by her neighbour Gohar Ali, who cut her into pieces for money.
Sakina went missing on Wednesday afternoon and on suspicion expressed by the missing girl’s parents police picked up Gohar and interrogated that transpired the murder.
According to police, the accused, Gohar was an old friend of Umer, the father of Sakina and had deposited money amounting to Rs0.47 million in Umer’s account while he was abroad.
After he returned from the foreign country, he demanded his money back from Umer on which Umer told Gohar that he had spent money for his personal purposes and he would return the whole amount in installments, police added.
This infuriated Gohar who took Umer’s daughter on Wednesday to make her hostage to exert pressure on Umer to return his money soon. But, when he took girl in his house, he subjected her to sexual abuse and later murdered her to hide his crime, police said.
The arrested accused confessing the murder told the police, "It was not my intension to kill the girl, but when I assaulted her sexually, I decided to kill the girl fearing she might narrate the story to her father. I disposed the body into several pieces by chopping her legs, hands and head.
Police said that some area people had seen Gohar taking the girl along with him who informed Sakina’s parents after she went missing.
On suspicion police picked up Gohar who disclosed the facts and on his disclosures police recovered the girl’s body that was wrapped in three bags.

Sara ... lets not diss the jirga yet, all I wanted to say is that the type of punishments (so far) we have seen awarded by jirga (in our media), a similar punishment should be awarded to the guy.
