Man arrested for burning wife, family members under investigation

A man residing in Belona village in Narkhed taluka of Nagpur district has been arrested for allegedly burning his 24-year-old wife, Lata Thomare, with the help of his family members, rural police here today said.
The police said, 27-year-old Anil Ramdas Thomare had married Lata a year ago. After marriage, Anil and his family members including his mother, sister and brother began torturing her saying she was insane and would not do housework properly.
And on July 9 this year, Anil, his brother, sister and mother-in-law set Lata afire in which she sustained 21 per cent burn injuries. She was later admitted to Nagpur medical college hospital. An offence has been registered against Anil and three of his family members. Further investigations are on, police said.
