i think u should have an option in the profile saying wheter someone is male or female because sometimes u cannot tell by the nickname and it gets confusing.

We may put the field there, but, at best, it will be optional for members to fill-in. And they can always joke around by putting in a wrong answer. The gender of most members may be obvious from their nick. The confusing ones are a smaller percentage, but then, if they deliberately kept it confusing, they are not likely to answer the question in their profile either. So it won't really help you much. Best option is to just ask the person. So there you go. :)
