Male dominated desi society

Has anyone observed that ladies got so many dil jalane wale titles for other ladies like ‘Janam Jalli’, ‘Kokh Jalli’,‘Baanjh’ ’ Banjar’ when she can’t have children. Men don’t get any such titles in this situation.

This is applied in other situations as well. Like if in-laws have problems after marriage (say financial problems because they didn’t properly planed for expenses), the newcomer Bahoo gets titles like ‘Kam-bakht’, ‘Sabz Qadam’ etc

Is this the quality of male dominated desi society or other cultures also possess same issues?

Re: Male dominated desi society

Because many people believe/still believe that only a woman can be infertile or the sex of the child is something the women can control. How many in-laws have you seen pushing their sons to get tested for fertility or badgering their sons (rightly so) for not providing child of required gender?

Re: Male dominated desi society

Exactly, but do men in non-desi society easily took the responsibility or blame for not having children?

Re: Male dominated desi society

kangla, kam chor, had haram, nikama are the common titles for male :snooty:

Re: Male dominated desi society

I think some do now atleast in the west. I know a couple where the male was infertile. Both went for testing. So now they adopted a kid from china.

Re: Male dominated desi society

But these are not earned through blame game. titles related to females are most time blames.

Re: Male dominated desi society

The problem is not limited to just fertility / infertility. Like 'Abaghan - Unlucky' is normally attributed to ladies. As if all men are Bhaghyashalya (Lucky).
