MalcomX's Letter After the Hajj....

MalcomX’s Letter After the Hajj…

"Never have I witnessed such sincere hospitality and such overwhelming
spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races
here in this Ancient Holy Land, the home of Abraham and all the other
Prophets of Holy scriptures. For the past week I have been truly speechless
and spellbound by the graciousness I see displayed all around me by people
of all colors. I have been blessed to visit the Holy City of Mecca … "
There were tens of thousands of pilgrims, from all over the world. They were
of all colors, from blue eyed blonds to black skinned Africans. But we were
all practicing in the same ritual, displaying a spirit of unity and
brotherhood that my experiences in America had led me to believe never could
exist between the white and the non-white.

"America needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion

that erases from it’s society the race problem. Throughout my travels in the
Muslim world, I have met, talked to, even eaten with people who in America
would have been considered “white”, but the “white” attitude had been
removed from their minds by the religion of Islam. I have never before seen
such sincere and true brotherhood, practiced by all colors together,
irrespective of their color.

"You may be shocked by these words coming from me. But on this

pilgrimage, what I have seen and experienced has forced me to re- arrange
much of the thought patterns previously held, and to toss aside some of my
previous conclusions. Despite my firm convictions, I have always been a man
who tries to face facts, and to accept the reality of life as new experience
and new knowledge unfolds. I have always kept an open mind, a flexibility
that must go hand in hand with every form of the intelligent search for
truth.

"I could see from this, that perhaps if white Americans could accept the

oneness of God, then perhaps, too, they could accept in reality the oneness
of man-and cease to measure, and hinder, and harm others in terms of their
“differences” in color.

thanks 4 sharing it with us.

Sadly I think it was his realization of the truth that got him killed too. He was very influental and God only knows how much good he could have achieved if he were not killed. I bet the world would have a very different (& positive) view of Islam had he lived longer. It's really sick how racists are using his life and memory to promote his earlier views ( & the whole nation of islam cult ) instead of the truths he discovered later in his life.

If you can not change it, get over it already!

so true.

Him becoming a muslim has really been a negative point in his popularity to the western world.

thank. very true. Unfortunaley the muslim ummah has been infected with a similiar disease NATIONALISM,PATROTISM, by the kaffar. We as muslim should realise that this disease is haram, take it out of our life and only then we will be united again.(like we were for over 1300 years)

Very True!! I ask Allah to grant us unity and to make us from those who take Prophet Muhammad as the first role model to life.

Girl From Quraysh, Is there a website that we can download the letter from..

Barakallahu feekum.

>>>I bet the world would have a very different (& positive) view of Islam had he lived longer.<<<

That may be so, but then we also have to realize, that everything that comes to pass is also the will of Allah swt. And perhaps in his death there is also a lesson for us.

>>>It’s really sick how racists are using his life and memory to promote his earlier views ( & the whole nation of islam cult ) instead of the truths he discovered later in his life.<<<

Yeah it is pathetic how people can resort to manipulating another’s life, another’s visions, to promote their own cause, disregarding what Malcolm X ultimately believed in, fought for,…and died for.
But i guess, that lays a responsibility on our shoulders also, to convey and promote what it was Malcolm x truly came to believe…and also the truth itself.

>>>Him becoming a muslim has really been a negative point in his popularity to the western world.<<<

No, i don’t think it was so much his being a muslim, it was more his advocacy for fairness, justice and decency for black people in america. Much of the negativity experienced by people like Malcolm X and Martin Luther King in those times, stemmed from the racism many displayed towards people of colour.

Ahmad G, a website? Do you mean just for this letter or for his speeches as well? Hmmm i don’t know, though i think there are probably tons out there, i could do a search when i have the time, inshaAllah

I think Malcom x is a great hero.. In the institutes that I'm in, there are a lot of Blacks that converted and some are researching..

I know a brother that teaches in jails in USA!! you know how many converted to islam in one of his lectures?? 500 people and they were all criminals!! and the total that him and his partner, by the will of Allah, there was 2000 Mostly Blcak Muslims in the jail. And when they converted the security level on them was decreased!! why?? Because of the beaty of Islam! they observed that they (Who mostly were criminals) improved and some totaly changed all because of them following the teachings of Islam!..

Now this brother, name Muhammad.., was granted a certificate of honor from usa for his great work! and now him and not many, are allwoed to enter the usa jails and teach Pure Islamic Knowledge. This is truly impressive..

Al Hamdulillah.
