Malaysia and Thailand

Re: Malaysia and Thailand

You need at least 3 days for Singapore. I was there a few months ago. Might be going to Malaysia in the coming months.

I can tell you about Singapore though. It is EXPENSIVE, unlike Indonesia and probably Malaysia.

There's a lot to see in Singapore and you can take the train (very cheap and safe) to pretty much everywhere. If you take the train, you get your money back when you reach your destination. For example, to go to Sentosa Island from Orchard Street is about, say for example, $2.60. When you reach Sentosa, you get $1.00 back. It's not much but I guess an incentive from the government for people to use the trains.

In Singapore, you should visit Little India (more like little Madras), Sentosa Island, China Town, Boats Quay/Clarks Quay (especially at night time), Arab Town and the Gondala to the top of the mountain where you can see all of Singapore. There's also a night time safari, which sounds cool (didn't get to do it).

I walked a lot in Singapore, which was great. You should aim to see 3 areas in a day. Although Singapore is a small country/island, there is a lot to see and do. It's extremely western though, not much culture (at least none that I saw).

If we go to Kuala Lumpur, I will put an update in this thread. My bro will be visiting Singapore/Malaysia and Indonesia in the coming months so I'll ask him to post his thoughts/experiences here too.
