Hi, hoping to visit Lahore soon and doctor has prescribed malaria tablets (one kind to be taken twice a day and the other kind twice a week - both to start a week before travel and continued for 4 weeks after returning)! Is there a big risk of malarai in Lahore? Are there lots of mosquitos there at this time?

Well the risk is there, however most don't take prophylaxis and get away with it. I started prophylaxis with tablets that have to be taken only once a week, however they have side effect of affecting your mood and it did, so i stopped.

:) people who live in Lahore I dont think 100% of them are infected with it... world is not much dangerous place. The risk is there but medicines are more negative effecting than helping us.
I do visited lahore and subrubs... if smthng has to happen it will and if not then even if you drink the normal water from the rusted pipe line, it wont happen.

hahahaha, aho malayria ... 1 karor Lahori maray naee malayriyay naal baqi dee jaan niklaee jandai ay. Dont worry, u will only get infected if u visit Lahore between mid July to mid September & live in a place near some old pool. Otherwise no a big deal.
