Malam Jabba was developed in late 90,s in the upper mountains of Hindukush since then it become an attraction for local tourists all over Pakistan.Seeing its beauty one can easily compare it to Switzerland thats what Swat valley is famous for (Switzerland of Pakistan).

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

Looks like it has devolped a lot since I visited it back in 93'. Back then it didn't have resorts of this kind and tourists staying in Saydo sharief and Kalaam would visit it as the jewel in the crown in Swaat area.

Thanks a lot for sharing.

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

I was in Malam Jabba in the 80's and it was very very pretty. I guess these new developments might make it tourist friendly but would it be as pure? Why the need for so much concrete? Why not build small huts/cabins out of wood?

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

--->>Yeah Rightly said Funguy We would not want any more hill station like Muree it is so badly popullated that i dont want to go there now but the thing which might be considered as well is then what should we do to increase tourism Most of tourists dont like to only visit but want to stay among green forests but we should i think do something for tourists but their should be limits

--->>thats what is done in Malam jabba it dont even will see any more tourists resort on it because government has efficiently condemed the building of new tourists resort on Malam jabba and in this way the Hotel management of PTDC motel will also protect he cutting of treest by ocal people for fire purposes and for selling them because that can decrease their tourism

--->>I think something should be done to provide local people Fire facilities so that they should no more cut beautiful trees for fire and i think some measures should also taken for Murree because if growth rate in murree continue they will make Murree a part of hell rather than heaven .

---->>Have you ever see an indian hill station "Shimla" it is so heavily popullated that one could fear going there same could be happen to murree soon i think pine trees should be proected there and here in Malam jabba too.

--->> And government should do something traders have made murree a Trade heaven not tourists heaven.

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

well new murree is gona take all load of murree and new murree would be better then any city in switzerland, with 6 star and 5 star hotels.

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

Beautiful pics.

I can tell you: I am in Switzerland right now and it is not as beautiful as you'd think.

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

Beeeeeeeeeeautiful!!!

My pictures in this snow when I was 4/5 years old. But I think that is Murree. Where is THIS place? Is it close to Murree?

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

^ No, this is NOT Murree. Malam Jabba is in the Swat Valley towards Kaghan, Naaraan area.

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

awright awright.

my dad told me “kisi din aapko le kar jayen gay sawat/kaghan” and some other strange names he said. he said jheel saif al maluk looks so beautiful. it is the winter ice water from the mountians which forms that lake. ONE DAY ill go there :snooty:

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

Jheel saif ul mulk is Very beautiful more than what we could imagine its reflections
and colors are great in the blue water any way Malam jabba is not located near Murree it is on more northern areas near Naraan kaghan.
Actually three beautiful valleys in Pakistan run side by side from the south of nwfp to the north i have more pictures
will share soon.
Eastern valley is Swat valley separated by Kaghan valley which runs parallel with it and Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir.

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

yeah my father told me the water is so clear that everything is visible underneathe it. and also that the water is too cold cz it is actually the melted ice of the moutains.

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

The place looks so different in the snow. I went there last August for 3 days and we tried to go on the chair lifts on 2 of those days but the first time they were closed and the 2nd time there were hail stones. I remember there was a rollerskating area near that white building but they didn't have any skates in my size.

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

Thanks for sharing.

Re: :::::::Malam Jabba::::::

That resort was already there the last time i visited Sawatt in either 96' or 97'. If things haven't changed dramatically from my last visit there then i would say that it is neither under nor over developed.
