Just curious - why do many, if not most, Pakistanis hate her? I mean I have an idea but I?m just curious to see what people here would say.
I am am currently reading her book, and find it funny when Pakistanis insist she is a CIA agent or an international spy (lol). Or when they say she betrayed Pakistan for the UK when we all know as soon as she lands in Pakistan she would be shot faster than anything else.
I personally am indifferent. I think if it wasn?t her, it would be any girl who got shot. I think what she is doing (campaigning for girls rights) is great.
I don’t think you can generalize but the reason why a lot of Pakistanis don’t like her cause they she represents a side of Pakistan they don’t like, they think all the events surrounding is embarrasing and inaccurate and some to some degree that is true, the white controlled media only likes to portray eastern cultures as backwards and uncivilized and brown women as helpless.
We can and will discuss this for upteenth time again ofcourse but lets include the quebec minister’s controversy in this as well, who met malala but dont want to let her teach in canada wearing scarf
There is always a right wing everywhere and they are never shy to create issues for everyone that they dont like
People always write good things in books… show me a book where the author has given maa behen ki galli to opponents… It’s all good on paper lolz, but to know what really happened and why people hate malala, you gotta go back to 2009, 2010 and 2011. The incidents that unfolded involving her and the statements issued by her family regarding geo-political situation of that time and the intense fighting between Haqqni Network and US troops, and the fact that west always needed an oppressive face in muslim world to justify their military invasions and to show the world that see we invaded flaa country because people were being abused there…Take all these things into account to form the opinion.
I feel she and her family unconsciously became a pawn of west.
