"I love American drones".
Disgusting.
These are the words of someone who has lived under their tyranny and even now face threat from them. The people there hate these animals. this act of theirs has further given us a glimpse of their thinking.

I personally don't consider drones or military operations (only) to be the solution to the crisis, the militants will have to be segregated and punished (military plus political solution). As they have time and again demonstrated that they are not willing to surrender or mend their ways.

There is an ongoing war being fought in these regions since the partition...and only peace times were when dialogues were held between pashtuns and Pakistani government. We can call them Taliban and religious whackos but they are a symptom of a much bigger problem. A much bigger problem than Eastern Pakistan.

Pakistani schools protest after shooting of young girl
8:56AM EST October 10. 2012 - PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Many schools in Pakistan’s Swat Valley closed their doors in protest Wednesday and the country’s army chief vowed to fight on against militants as anger erupted across the nation over the Taliban attack on a 14-year-old activist famed for promoting girls’ education.
Malala Yousufzai was in the intensive care unit at a military hospital in Peshawar, recovering from an early morning surgery to remove a bullet from her neck a day after the attack. A Pakistani official said doctors thought she was out of danger.
The shooting of Malala on her way home from school Tuesday in the town of Mingora in the volatile Swat Valley horrified Pakistanis across the religious, political and ethnic spectrum. A Taliban gunman walked up to a bus taking schoolchildren and shot her in the head and neck. Another girl on the bus was also wounded.
The country’s top military officer, Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, issued a strongly-worded statement condemning the attack. The powerful army chief rarely makes such public pronouncements, even when it comes to strictly military matters.
“In attacking Malala, the terrorist have failed to grasp that she is not only an individual, but an icon of courage and hope who vindicates the great sacrifices that the people of Swat and the nation gave, for wresting the valley from the scourge of terrorism,” Kayani said.
He vowed the military would not bow to terrorists like those who shot the young activist.
“We will fight, regardless of the cost we will prevail,” he said.
He also visited the hospital to get a first-hand account of her condition, the statement said.
Malala is admired across Pakistan for exposing the Taliban’s atrocities and advocating for girls’ education in the face of religious extremism.
She began writing a blog when she was just 11 under a pseudonym for the BBC about life under the Taliban, and began speaking out publicly in 2009 about the need for girls’ education. The Taliban strongly opposes education for women, and the group has claimed responsibility for the Tuesday attack.
Private schools in the Swat Valley were closed Wednesday in a sign of protest over the shooting and in solidarity with Malala, said Ahmed Shah, the chairman of an association of private schools. Flags in front of the Mingora government headquarters were at half-staff, and police officers stood guard outside her family’s house.
A demonstration was expected to be held later Wednesday at the press club in Mingora and another one was under way in the eastern city of Lahore. In the southern port city of Karachi, the city’s main political party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, was having a service at their headquarters to pray for the girl’s recovery.
The front pages of both English- and Urdu-language newspapers were plastered with stories and pictures of Malala. Television channels constantly replayed footage of her being taken to the hospital in Peshawar as well as clips from previous appearances she’d made while promoting girls’ education.
The news that surgeons were able to remove a bullet lodged in Malala’s neck was greeted with relief by many. A team of army and civilian surgeons have been treating her at a military hospital in Peshawar where she was airlifted after the Tuesday shooting.
The operation to remove the bullet took hours because there were complications, said the information minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Mian Iftikhar Hussain.
“She is improving. But she is still unconscious,” he said. Hussain said there was no decision yet whether the girl needed to be taken abroad for further treatment, but said that doctors felt she was out of danger.
At one time the picturesque Swat Valley — nicknamed the Switzerland of Pakistan — was a popular tourist destination for Pakistanis. Honeymooners vacationed along the river.
Then the Taliban in 2007 began infiltrating the valley just 280 kilometers (175 miles) from the capital, eventually assuming near-total control of the region before being ejected in a massive Pakistani military operation in 2009.
The takeover, as well as the Taliban’s brutal treatment of civilians in the region, shocked many Pakistanis, who considered militancy to be a far-away problem in Afghanistan or Pakistan’s rugged tribal regions.
But Tuesday’s attack demonstrated that the Taliban have not been eradicated from the valley and are trying to make their presence felt even three years after the offensive to oust them.
Malala was nominated last year for the International Children’s Peace Prize, which is organized by the Dutch organization KidsRights to highlight the work of children around the world. She also was honored last year with one of Pakistan’s highest awards for civilians for her bravery.

hareem01, I very much feel the same way after looking at the response of Pasha Uncle ![]()
If drones were only killing the Taliban terrorists, it would have been a different story but their operations would still have to be approved and managed by Pakistan.
Currently, Drones usage puts a big fat question mark on Pakistan’s sovereignty. And more importantly, 98% killed are non-terrorists civilians. Not supporting drones mean not supporting killing of innocent Pakistani citizens. But some people’s IQ level does not pass beyond their knees ![]()

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
How many of religious parties have or are going to be holding rallies asking for justice to be bright to her attackers like they have been doing for years for Affia siddiqui?
This little girl is hundreds time more daughter of Pakistan than the
Terrorist Affia siddiqui.
COAS has visited Malaga in the hospital. Imran Khan is supposed to visit her tonight. Every one is trying to get political mileage out of the issue now, for God's sake leave her alone and let the doctors treat her. There are many other issues on which politics can be played.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
JI is doing some protest in Islamabad today. Maybe TTP was not expecting this kind of response to their terror tactics, like I mentioned above they have made a strategic blunder. No party can condone (or appear to condone) this kind of terror attack.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
Great to see Ji first time coming out for condemning Taliban .
Shame on all supporters of Taliban .
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
Shazia, the second girl who was attacked has also been shifted to CMH Peshawar.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
Very disappointed to see the last 2 minutes of this show.
Imran Khan condemns the attack on Malala Yousufzai but explicitly declines to name Tehreek-e-Taliban as culprits because he says he fears reprisals against his party workers.

****BBC Urdu -
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
I just want to ask only one thing from these Talibans >>>>> why to attack Malala , and why not President, Prime Minister and other politicians , when they speak against u . If this is the only reason u give to attack her that she speaks against us , then why not those powerful people be attacked who are in proper politics. One reason i see is that , Talibans have shaked hands under the table , with the politicians and they must be paying them , to not to attack them. Secondly, i think, that thse people who claim themselves to be taliban and have attacked Malala, they are not muslims, sirf naam kai musalman hain yai , amal k nahin. Ahsaan ullah Ahsaan k liay arz hai k , if i keep aside the islam's teachings on attack on children and women, still then islam mai saaf saaf hai kai "Deen mai koi jabar nai". you can't force someone to become muslim or strictly follow islam, leaving the dunya aside. there is a verse that ends at : " utna he yai ubhray ga jitna daba dou gai". So , what i get is that u only attacked Malala to set an example for other people especially women k jo bhi yai karay ga, us ka anjaam yai ho ga, and if thats the case, u r wrong . It will be an indefinite period war . Agar itna he golian marnai ka shouq hai aur un logoun ko marnay ka, k jo tum taliban k khilaf hain , puri dunya bhari hoi hai, starting from Obama to that producer/maker of that anti-Islam film. Why don't u go and kill those people who do blasphemy. Ah, I know , kyun k tum logoun ko sirf kamzor ko dabana ata hai, America janai ki jurat nai ho gi tum logoun mai, ya phir un sai bhi paisay laitay ho k hum sirf bolain gai america k khilaf magar action nai lain gai. You people are cowards, cowards and cowards. Agar itna he samajhtai ho k tum loug haq pai hou tou munh chhupa kar kyun atay ho marnai, chhup k kyun hamla kartay ho, lalkar kar ao, aik talwar apnai haath main aur aik mukhalif k haath mai dou aur dou-ba-dou muqabla karo.
Apna naam taliban sai badal k rakh lou k hum ghair insani harkatain karnai walay wo loug hain jou har tarf apna khud sakhta islam ka version naafiz karna chahtay hain.
