Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
True. But then again, the question arises, why were they waiting for this incident to occur to mobilize, or worse, was this incident created to push them to move ?
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
So who is stopping the army to do that. Isn't TTP, Pakistan's enemy ? Why play with innocent girls' lives to justify such operations ? Just do it.
We have been told that army is too stretched. So until they set in a normal shape, the animals can do whatever it wants to do — be it Kamra airbase or Malala.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
^ I don't think there's some conspiracy theory behind this, the people who have conducted the attack have proudly owned it (like countless attacks before), and they have been doing the same openly in swat, and other areas of the country. I think we shouldn't give them any benefit of doubt now.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
Also, the timing is extremely suspicious as this comes right at the heels of IK's March to Waziristan against the drone attacks which got unprecedented international press coverage to somebody's discontent and displeasure.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
^ there's no timing, the thing is TTP is not reconcilable, they consider any sign of reconciliation as a weakness of the state and try to show their power. Their ultimate aim is force their form of 'sharia' on the country and they have never shied from that. The only thing the state can do is try and segregate them from the tribals, and others who might be hostage under them and then punish the rest.

I don't care about giving the Taliban any benefit of the doubt.
But I don't want them used by other enemies.
If they have owned this and all previous attacks and communicated to the world,
there must be a way to trace them and go after them.
After all they are attacking and killing Pakistanis.
Why wouldn't the army move against them ?

'Their form of Sharia' must allow murdering children in cold blood.
Who are they selling this form of sharia ?
You think there would be any buyers of this product anywhere ?
This seems so childish.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
^ they don't need buyers, they think they can force their way through (making the population hostage). Similar to how they got hold of swat and buner in the first place. I am a firm believer that their creation was the result of wrong policies of both US and Pakistan but now they are a reality and we will have to tackle them somehow.

Then there was never any justification to not go after them earlier.
Pakistanis have callously witnessed 30,000 of their compatriots murdered because of this
misbegotten war, do you think they would shed a tear for the beast ?
Also how many are we talking about who believe in this 'form of sharia' and where do they manufacture them ?
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
^ I have never supported the war from the beginning. What ever has happened during the past ten years can't be reversed, now what can we do? Let the beast carry on with the killings, while we keep on discussing who is actually behind it? When they are openly owning it, and there is a vast proportion of the religious leaders who don't even condemn them for that.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
Malala is shifted to Military hospital , Rawalpindi . She is still on ventilator . Prey for her .
Pray.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
Where are TTP getting their arms from? I hope Pakistanis are not giving them weapons. I would like to hear their opinion too ... I'm not sure they are as unreasonable the media portrays them to be ... About controlling sentiments - I think we need to stop letting the media dictate to us which child is more important to us ... those innocents who didn't ask for being bombed or this girl who knew very well that she is putting herself in danger ... She is a lioness for doing that and I respect her - I do not mourn her though not like I mourn those innocents killed who were not seeking conflict.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
^ they get their weapons by looting NATO convoys, or from afghan taleban, and there's a big under ground weapon market. Anyways who are you saying are not unreasonable? Taleban?
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked
^ Ok so what are NATO conveys doing in TTP? And why don't the Pak army defend the northern borders from Afghan support? There are better ways to get them than drone attacks. Well my only experience of the Taliban is through the media ... If anything I'm losing my trust in Western media - so quite naturally I need another way to find out what makes Taliban click ... I'm not going to take your word for it because you are subjected to the same media and formulate your opinions on the same basis.
Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

That was more than a spelling correction - you literally turned an instruction to "hunt" into an instruction to "worship" just by changing a vowel ...

nato convoys pass through PAKISTAN to go to Afghanistan, secondly the borders between Afghanistan and Pakistan are porous (they are not easy to man even if Pakistan or Afghanistan want to), thirdly eastern Afghanistan and Pakistani FATA are not in any ones control. The militants rule there, if you don't believe the media, the government or army the only way is to go and visit the areas.

That's the huge hotbed which has become an enigma not only for Pakistan and Afghanistan, but for the Nato as well. No military can help enforce any official writ in these areas, be it Pakistan, Afghanistan or the US.
I think one solution could be to turn these areas into proper provinces, give the control of the areas to the natives and put massive financial and military might at the disposal of CMs of these areas. And the key would be time. It should not happen in 20 years. This strategy would work only if it is implemented in the shortest possible of time.
