Guys,
the weather is starting to turn quite cold here in the UK now and i want a couple of tops for the colder weather. Can anyone tell me how “thick” malai linen is? I’ve seen a couple of FB groups selling tops made out of this kapra.
Also i’m one of these people who need to wear a coat, hat scarf and gloves, theres no way i’d got out in a short jacket, so here my dilemma. The current trennd is for pretty long tops paired with either leggings or churidhaar
which i loved wearing during the summer BUT what designs would work in winter with a knee length coat. One of my big bug bears is wearing a long kamiz and a coat, i just think it makes me look really messy.
Re: malai linen kya hai and style advice need
The current trend is long shirts so that's what my designers are currently working on. However, I wear short shirts with a trousers or jeans and will be getting a few done for winters. Will send you pictures if you like anything. (in a couple of weeks hopefully)
Re: malai linen kya hai and style advice need
Hi ed, I do love the long flowy shirts but they look rubbish bunched under a coat lol. I think I'm going to go for just above the knee, would love to see your pics
Re: malai linen kya hai and style advice need
I wear them shorter than the knee length. My coats and jackets are generally knee length so the shirt has to be shorter than that.If there are enough requests, might as well have ED designers work on some short shirts too but for now I will post pictures when I am done with mine.
Re: malai linen kya hai and style advice need
I really like the daaman designs, will post some pics when I get home. If u could copy the stuff done by them or the UK store monsoon, it would b fantastic

You are right about malai linen. The fabric for winters is called boski linen.
Re: malai linen kya hai and style advice need
Malai Linen is for summer not winters. There's some thicker material Malai linen available now in the market. also you can get the normal winter linen, pashmina linen and as ED suggested Boski Linen for Winters :)

Re: malai linen kya hai and style advice need
Is malai linen machine washable?
Re: malai linen kya hai and style advice need
yes it is machine washable... but try not to wash any clothes in machine as the clothes lose the nayapan/ sheen. so my advice/experince is always leave your clothes for 1/2/few hours in the surf etc, rinse with clean water, that way the clothes remain new for years and never loose the nayapan :)
