Making workout appealing to a beginner?

What are some of the ways to make workout programs appealing to a beginner? This person is willing to put some time in working out but often loses concentration within 15 minutes of workout. According to him, he finds workout too boring and repetitive. His main goal is to shed body fat and increase muscle mass.

Any suggestions?.. how do you make your workout interesting?

Re: Making workout appealing to a beginner?

go for a run. walk home from work. take a spinning class.
workouts don't have to be confined to the gym or specifically, the treadmill- its one of the most boring pieces of workout equipment ever invented!
to build muscle, he needs to lift weights- he can buy them for home and work out in front of the tv.

hmm okai.. so what type of things should one avoid incorporating into a beginner's workout to make it less boring?

Re: Making workout appealing to a beginner?

They should look for things that interest them. Like SGC said, working out doesnt have to be confined to the gym only. One can get a good workout by doing things that they enjoy such as swimming, biking, hiking, rollerblading, squash, tennis, soccer, dance etc.

well this really depends on the individual...something I find boring you may find enjoyable.

I love those

yesterdy I wen biking for two hrs.
And before I went to bed i went skating. I mean how kool is that!!!

I think there are not hard and fast rules.
I depends on individual, its important to know what make them talk to you about work out.
