IMHO, this approach is great when used with like minded people. But not so great with the older generation at times.

There is potential for success but also of failure.

If I was in your shoes, I would try to do things to make her happy so she understands you want to make amends. Direct dialogue is dangerous because she may take what you say differently and not understand the sentiment. If you’re bent on doing this, make sure you keep your emotions in check and stay calm.

Thanks Reha. I agree about choosing your audience but I’m fed up of these on-going issues and have reached out to her so the ball’s in her court. She’s not taken me up on my offer to meet with her yet (it is Ramadan and her MIL, so my grandmother in law, has just had surgery) so we shall see which way this situation goes.

The thing is, she now knows I want to meet with her to discuss some issues so if she does agree to meet, how can I say that without giving away too much of myself?
