Making pak-food popular in West

I am talking about ideas to make these pakistani food as popular as mexican or italian foods. So much that we can have fast food versions of them. Here are some ideas

  1. Sell Haleem as soup. Call it Haleem Soup. sell it like wendys sell its beans chilli soup.

  2. Seekh kabab as in Hot Dogs

  3. Behari kabab as pita sandwiches or rolls

  4. Khitchree rice (as in khitch-ree). Like in plastic cans

  5. Biryani rice and pulao rice (like jumbalaya)

  6. Chapli Hamburgers with lemon soda ( Chapli kabab bun ke ander, sath mein shikanjbeen)

  7. Shami burgers with Yogurt drink (Shami kabab aur Lassi)

  8. Samosa with chatni call it vegatable rolls with hot sauce

any more ideas?

How about opening a new chain of fastfood restuarents all over the US, with this menu and a drive thu lane. How about the name DesterKuann (or Duster Khwan) for this chain.

Re: Making pak-food popular in West

Pakistani restaurants/takeaways need to stop marketing their food as “Indian”.

They should describe it as Pakistani or at least South-Asian (both Paki and Indian).

One of the biggest South-Asian food chains in this country is Sher-Khan owned by the Paki Awans but they describe it as “Indian”.

Bengalis should also do the same and advert their food as Bangla or South-Asian.

Akhir hamari apni bhi koi pehchan hai. :jhanda:

Re: Making pak-food popular in West

Thats a seperate issue. What I was talking about, was to make food more hip, more fast, more inline with american style.

LOL

Lagta hai aap ko bhi roza lag raha hai.

We're having Kofta-Meatballs and Pesto Pasta tonight, I'm starving.

Re: Making pak-food popular in West

Yeah but to do that it needs to have an identity first, most people just see it as Indian whereas real Indian food is yellowy-brown pastes resembling diarrhea that just corrode your insides, grass floating in piss colored water and waffer thin breads.

Re: Making pak-food popular in West

thats a good one

  1. Kofta Meatballs with rice. Even that can be provided as fast food in a chinese takeout style rectangular box

Re: Making pak-food popular in West

-Chapli-Kebob on a bed of Pilaw rice?

-Make the curries less runnier and wrap them in roti, like Mexican style tortilla wraps, my mom use to do that for us when we were younger.

-Runny curries can be served with rice.

-Samosas, pakoras etc. are fine as they are, only serve them in grease-proof paper not Jang newspaper :smack: although I must admit the ink does seem to enhance the flavour.

Most Paki food is already served fastfood style in the UK, shame they pass it off as solely Indian, I’m not against Indians but I think we deserve some credit as well..

Re: Making pak-food popular in West

Nan-Pakoray ... have you ever eaten one at a local Pakistani railway station. Yummmyyyyy ... its true fast food.

Re: Making pak-food popular in West

They dont need fast food on railway station. There is usually no rush, as trains start late.
