I made these and the special gadda that goes with them from scratch cuz I couldn't find anything in the appropriate size for a newborn in the market. Made covers for them in white "chicken" pattern fabric cuz we didn't know what we were having. I love that set.

khawa...for some reason i feet it is not easy to tug the quilt under like you can to the blanket but that is just me, i guess....for washing, i do wash the blankets every week aswell.

mashallah Muzna, you made the gadda and the takkia's from scratch .. that is quite inspiring actually , you must be a pro at stitching .. I am thinking of experimenting with this stuff too , might ask for your tips here and there :@:

Chips and Khawa , I am considering buying a baby blanket from Dubai when i go home few months after the baby inshallah .. they have some super fabulous designs in the market .. and then when i go to Lahore I am gonna get some proper bedding from there .. but until then I want to ensure I get some basic stuff in place , considering that one has to be ultra sensitive with newborns, I am thinking of buying the basics from the UK ..

Awww Khawa!! I just wish Zubeidas and Baby Shop had their website. A friend of mine did her baby shopping from there and AL Fateh. I have heard high of these from her. :hinna: I hope CB’s hubs shops a good deal from there for the sake of variety, if nothing else

Mirage: u can get awesome stuff in jeddah... Mothercare, chicco, next etc... Or if u wanna be a bit less spending, than baby shop at centrepoint has THE WORLD!!! Good quality, less price...branded goods..not crap.

Infact... Post hajj.. Mothercare will be having a mad sale ....make sure hubby goes to that... Im talking 70% off... I boughtall of midget's nursery stuff from that..,

Wow this sounds so exciting. Where is the baby shop at Centrepoint? Is This Centrepoint some mall or what? What about my husband’s choice. How do I trust him with baby stuff

Its a huge dept store and stands alone or is within a mall… Mall of arabia, tahaliya street, andalus mall… Its everywhere…cant miss it.

Koi baath nahi, unka bhi bacha hai.

Urgh … many people around are advising me not to do it for the newborn .. perhaps do my own little adventures when the baby becomes a toddler .. I think i am getting convinced

^pfft…newborn is when you can do all this stuff…making things for toddlers is a lot harder I found cuz you have to make stuff bigger and they don’t really lie around as much like newborns do.

I also know a gal that has a 2 year old and she is still sterilizing his bottles…
If I had ever sterilized bottles, I would definitely have stopped by that time!!!

a bumper wont change size from infancy to toddlerhood tbh.. the quilt cover may if you buy the tiny infant ones .. i didnt do that.. its a waste of money… one karwat and the kid is out of the quilt.. so i just bought a toddler one… didnt change it until midget was 2.5 yrs… and now genie is using it..

pillow.. u dont need one until the kid is 2 maybe? or has reflux.

so really.. i can make wahtever you want right now.. the more time u get to enjoy it.

screw everything..the paint the booties etc etc just make one set in white chicken.. every baby .. regardless of gender.. MUST have a white chicken bedding set… its just.. a must for a baby. its so pure and innocent.

i cherish mine SO MUCH.
