So how many of you only shop according to your list/stuff needed in the kitchen? And do you have a pre-set grocery budget or you know in your mind how much is ok to spend on groceries?
When we got married initially we were spending about 600-800 on groceries for 2 people which I feel is ALOT. But to make myself feel better, all this also included basic items we were buying month by month to build our kitchen such as utensils, cleaning supplies, food containers etc. We are now down to about 400-450, and this includes 3-5 dawats a month. Is that ok for a couple or still on the higher side?
The bill sounds high for just two people, maybe you can shop at places like costco to cut down on the cost. I think the dawats are what is contributing to most of the cost, dinner parties are expensive.
food seems to be way cheaper in the US…here in Canada, we are 3 permanent members in the house plus my nieces coming over for the occasional weekends, our grocery bill is over $700-$800. we have like a couple of dawats a month.
Yeah KKF we have couples dawats too…and I always try different menus for dawats, always 4-5 dishes and a combination of meat, chicken and fish…so yeah:s Why are dairy products in canada so expensive! Cheese and Milk which are essential for every home are sooooo unfairly priced
i think more N more people are getting out of farming business…this is a big problem in Canada. farmers are being urbanized…younger generation do NOT wish to go into this profession.
meat prices have tripled in the last 4-5 years. it’s matter of supply N demand. we will soon probably be importing everything.
We are currently 4 adults and 1 kid, our monthly grocery plus home essentials like paper towels, toilet paper our bill is roughly 700-900. This does not include eating out.
I think it might less on the guests leave. But am not sure by how much
I do groceries in bulk once a month, then go once a week for perishables and some items that may be on sale. I still think your budget is great. Halal meat alone is so expensive. We have cut down on meat (when I say meat, I mean mostly chicken) but still the monthly bill just at the Indian Pakistani grocery/ meat is around $150 a month and that is when i budget carefully.
i think it is a good budget but i dont think in pakistan we can get 600-800 for 2 people …i also want to ask here from pak members how much they spend on grocerry for 2 people?
becoz i think vegetable ,meat ,fruits like things have to buy on weekly basis or something else?
