I finally got to see my bridal dress yesterday and it was beautiful. I actually bought a very heavy dress that came with a trail for my big day. I ordered a bridal dupatta with it and added sleeves to make it more bridal. The result is vey nice , very chic.
I am personally happy as the rosey peach color was always my favorite. Howver , I now have to please my dear parents who seem to think the ‘baraat’ umph is missing and it looks like a walima dress. They did mention it when i was buying it but me, along with my sister are embracing the new trend of light colors for baraat as well (rather than just walima).
My dress has only silver work on it. I never wanted silver kaam but somehow it works perfectly for this dress.
My bridal jewellery was bought long time ago. my parents bought me a very simple delicate kindan set with tiny ruby stone. I love it as its small and elegant. Also, 2 thin gold karas plus ruby and gold ring.
It will clash with my dress but i have to wear it.
I now need help to add more ruby touch to my overall look so I look more as a baraat bride.
I had few ideas:
-adding a long rubys color mala..these long one that are in fashion.
-having a red flower in the hair
-adding ruby color bangles to my peach bangle set( though i didnt want to wear a bangle set but mum insist)
-red lipstick?
Please throw your ideas, or sow pictures of baraat brides with very light/pastel dress.
Re: making a light rose dress look like a baraat dress
Your dress sounds lovely. :) When you get married, do share pics! Your set sounds really nice and yes perhaps ruby malaa will look good. But you have to see how it falls on you and if it covers kaam on the dress etc. You need to try it on with your kundan set. I am not a big fan of glass bangles on bride so cant comment on that. Red lipstick sounds great. MAC Ruby Woo type shade perhaps?
What kind of peachy rose color is ur dress? I think make up will do the trick to make you more of a baraat bride than valima.

What is a mala?
i think once you are all dressed up with hair and makeup all done, you will be a beautiful bride! Don't overload yourself with accessories and flowed- your dress sounds lovely as it is.
I think Natasha does great bridal makeup for pastel coloured outfits- maybe have a peek at her facebook portfolio for ideas?
Re: making a light rose dress look like a baraat dress
This is what I initially thought of when reading the post
But I also second checking out Natasha Salon’s FB page for make up ideas as pastel baraat dresses are becoming very common. They almost always do a bright lip. Don’t overload yourself with accessories, but I’m sure it will look fab!

this maxi color combo is very similar to my dress…the shirt is lighter rose/peach ..open front with back trail…and the lengha underneath is in the darker peach.the work is silver dabka n diamontee only with some pink thread flowers.

for make up, i have booked Sadaf Farhan... she is on facebook. i like her work plus she isnt overbooked. please do have have and let me know if her work will suit my dress
Re: making a light rose dress look like a baraat dress
First, i would book a trial with her. Take your shirt with you. her work looks good but she’s only got a handful of brides who look like models, not real brides?
