Re: Makhaddi Halwa

Ingredients

1 cup sooji
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
couple cardamom pods

Soak sooji in water or milk (I prefer water) for 15 minutes.

Melt butter and add cardamom pods.

Add sugar. This is the tricky part where you have to constantly stir sugar till it dissolves completely.

Now add soaked sooji and that is where the real work begins. You have got to constantly stir, it does get very very hard to do the stirring because of the texture. I normally have to stir atleast a good 30-40 minutes on a medium to high flame. You’ll know once the texture changes and oil comes to surface that halwa is done. I don’t like adding dry fruits, you can throw them in if you want.

Ps: you can not leave the stove while making this, have got to be stirring constantly.

Good luck!
