Has anyone done this? There are several sites, the main one being makeupalley.com where you create a wishlist and a swap list and basically swap your makeup for something off your wishlist from a person who may have it.
I was able to swap my MAC 217 brush (extra backup) for a MAC 226 (new) and another one was me swapping a brand new NARS blush for a MAC blush I wanted from the limited edition Hello Kitty collection.
It’s a great way, IMO, to get what you want and save money too. Of course not everyone swaps for new makeup but I prefer to only swap with new stuff. (I’m on MakeupAlley under the name Airam07 if any of you ladies are on there).
LOL....I'm addicted to makeupalley! :) And yes, I'm done around 80 swaps there....still have a w/l and swap list but due to me having too much stuff already.....my W/L is limited. I've swapped for eye shadows, polish, pigments, B2M empties etc. Never had any issues. (I usually stick w/ swappers with a stable swap history and anyone with less than 50 tokens, I ask them to ship first).
it’s a good idea because a lot of times we buy things we never use, i’ve got a whole train case of make up i want to sell but i wouldn’t swap because i don’t want to get some more make up. i’m thinking of creating a blog to sell it but i’m being lazy

Doesn't hurt to list the items in case someone is interested and might make an offer. I'd def. love to see what you're selling or wanting to purge. I'm addicted to blushes at the moment so I'd def. love to see.

are you guys based in the us ? i'm in paris but i just checked the prices in USD, so based on the original prices i guess 15$ on average, depending on the product, some of them i have used a few times some of them not at all

i'm not looking for swapping actually, i just want to get rid of the make up i don't use by selling it. i'm waiting for the weekend to do a blogsale, take pictures of the products and all, and will let you know
For selling, you may also want to consider ebay and also check out Specktra.net. Although on Specktra, I think you need a certain number of posts to gain access to the buy/sell forum but don't quote me on that.
On a side note, since you're in France, don't forget to consider shipping costs. :)

I'd love to see the photos and prices also. I have a TON of NARS blushes (10 to be exact) but I'd love to try Coralista, and was thinking about buying a Chanel one also. Please post the link to the blog sale! Also, I remember you once said you love the NARS Taj Mahal blush and you wear it with smudged kohl and stuff. I totally got it based off your recommendation but I was wondering if you could elaborate on the eye makeup and tell me how you use it. I'd love some ideas!

^ i was really hesitant on selling my Taj mahal blush :( but since i want to keep the bare minimum i'm just selling almost all my blushes, i might add some more to my list.
as to the eye make up, i usually do that on a daily basis : i apply some brown khol pencil on the upper lash line and lightly smudge it with a brush, and i also apply some on the waterline.
I use Guerlain khol pencils, they're really really nice because they last, you don't need to sharpen them all the time so they last you a long time and are worth the price and they work great for smudging, my favorite one is in the shade Khol me Brown, it's a brown with some tiny gold glitter in it

Which brush do you use for smudging? A MAC's #219 or it doesn't matter? And eBay doesn't allow sales on used makeup. I think the easiest way would be to set up an account on makeupalley.com > Click on 'My Swap' > Click on "Swap Items" under 'My Swap Info' > and list your products along with the prices and mention what payment method you prefer etc and link it for us here. It will take less than 10 minutes to do! :)
M, I use the Make up for ever 14S brush. this one's also good for crease work.
I also have the 219 by Mac which i got in a kit but i don't like it very much, i'm gonna sell it too lol
