Hi ladies! I always have makeup questions b/c I am a newbie at it and you all have good experience with it so I need to ask something for those living in U.S. only. I wanted to know which certain cosmetic stores give out free samples (no purchase necessary) ? I am looking for samples for eyeshadow and lipgloss. I am desperate b/c my brother gets married this Summer and I want to experiment on which shadows will work for me. (don’t tell me about drugstore stuff as I have had bad experience and I want to invest in one or two eyeshadows) I need just enough shadow for one application for both eyes. I want to wear it and see how it looks on me and how long it will last etc. Some makeup places near me: MAC, Sephora, Victorias secret..thats all I can think of. Will these and other places give out samples for free?(doubt vickies will) Thanks ladiesss

You can try MAC - depending on who is working behind the counter tho. If it is someone nice, they don't mind giving samples at all.
Since you only want to try for one application for both eyes and see how it looks/long it lasts... I would do what I do.... I go into sephora and apply the eyeshadow to my actual eye from the tester and wear it all day. If I like it, next time I go back in there, I buy it :) I usually do the same with MAC too ... especially if it seems unlikely I will be getting a sample (ex. if I see someone ask and get denied). I would do the same with gloss too if I were you too. Go on a Saturday morning and try on a color you like ....see how you continue to like it as the day goes on. Do this as many times as you want until you come across the perfect color!
Thanks for your help! Yea, I know you can go in and play with the stuff but I want to experiment with it comfortably at home. Now that I think of it I need enough to do it two or three times until I get it right plus I don;t like being around pushy sales people and yes some can help wonders but I just hate them looking at me thinking I am getting ready for a party in their store or just goofing off..

u can always buy stuff at sephora and macy's and return it if you dont like it.
