I think a bride should keep her regular stuff in a make up kit. The brands and products that she has used before and is comfortable with. I don't think makeup products are marriage specific.
Furthermore, she can experiment loads with the stuff that would be presented to her in the baree by her in-laws.
i know products are not marriage specific...but most of the girls dont apply much makeup before marriage...as i never used base but i guess i will use it after marriage

im gathering mine too right now ive bought mostly all MAC coz i love there eyeshadows and now i love there lipsticks...im not a fan of the foundation though i find it so thick and cakey...i m going to get the nars tinted moist.
I also have been collecting MAC products, and just stocking up on my regular products that I am used to wearing. I'm a big makeup junkie so just the usual stuff I would wear.
What kinds of stuff should we have in our little clutch at the wedding? on the day of? and even if we carry these things with us, will it really matter because will we even get a chance to fresh up on the day of the wedding or will be we on that stage the entire time?
I like Loreal mineral foundation.. the powder kind..but i think in my kit.. i will have just the foundation, blush, eyeliner, lipliner and lipstick.. i dont know how to do eye makeup so eye shadows and other cool stuff.. would be just taking space :(
Just wanted to mention a few quick points in response to your question about what to keep in your clutch bag, I would def suggest first of all your lipstick and/or lipgloss, along with your compact powder to touch up any shine, eyeliner and mascara, plus possibly a small spritzing spray and a small pack of tissues, in case of any emergency.
