My sister showed me this website with all these really amazing makeup tutorials by some girl and she like walks you threw every step and even tells you exactly why products she uses. It looks soooo amazing! I wish I could do makeup like that. Here are some of her looks:
If you click on tutorials at the top, you can go through and see all of the videos she’s posted that show you how to do each of the looks (scroll down and click ‘older entries’ for more).
She uses mostly MAC products, but also some stuff from Makeup Forever and NARS (Sephora). One brand she also used a lot was NYX cosmetics, and I’d never heard of it so I googled and they don’t have one in my area (they’re based in LA and have stores in some states) but you can buy their stuff online from the US or Canada. Their eyeshadows are $5 for a single and $8 for a trio and apparently it’s good quality because just look at the stuff that this girl is doing with 'em!! =]
Yea I have loose glitter by Makeup Forever it’s realllyyy pretty. I’m too cheap for NARS :bummer:.
But NYX cosmetics (the brand that this girl has used in some of the pics) has some good quality stuff for a really low price. The eye shadows are comparable to MAC’s quality but about 1/3 of the price.
On the NYX website, a single eyeshadow is $5 and a trio is $8. But, I found a site that’s selling singles for $4 and trios for $6. :phati: (www.cherryculture.com) I’m totally buying some! =]
I don't know. I'd never even heard of NYX until I saw this girl's makeup tutorials, and it looks like the eyeshadows work really well. Where do you live?
i'd be wary of the cheaper eyeshadows. the colour pay-off can be just as good as a brand like MAC but usually they come off very easily or the frosty-ness comes off leaving you will the dull base colour.
^ Yea I was thinking the same thing but a lot of people have posted that if you wear a primer underneath it works great. I’m gonna try out a few shades and see.
Femme - uggh VA has all the best malls. Potomac Mills is so far. But thanks for the heads up. I’d feel much safer buying them from the store than online. Btw is it at Cosmetics Company Store in Potomac Mills?
cool website...I really want to ry the smoky look theway she has shown. I have most abut everything she showed(same colors diff brands)
Anybody here use the primer the painterly painter as that is what I think is using as a primer?
phati its not a makeup store but a fragrance store. I think its called fragrance outlet if im not mistaken. Go in through the TJMaxx entrance, you will have 'Bakers' right across the entrance and u take right to go to TJmaxx. The store is 2-3 stores before TJMaxx.
