A cousin of mine is going to New York in a week for a holiday. She has asked me what i want from there and being the makeup geek/collector/addict i am, i want to know what makeup could i get from there that you can’t get in the UK.
I need some brand names and products that are good and worth the price and hype.
Also, MAC lipsticks in UK are about £15.50ish
will they be cheaper in New York? Thinking of getting some from there.
I think the stores in the US add on tax when you take it to the tills/check out, so may not be that much cheaper (people from the US correct me if I’m wrong)
I know we don’t get Make Up For Ever here and their HD foundation is always hyped up so you could get that.
Sephora stores. I think people from UK love that. Check out their website and make a list of what you want and ask your friend to get it. We have ulta, MAC pro stores etc
Actually, it will be cheaper to pick stuff like MAC up in the Duty Free on the way out as it will be 20% cheaper. In the US, depending on the sales tax for that state, you can end up losing most of your saving at the till.

I think most of the higher end brands are available here in places like Selfridges + Harvey Nicks if not the regular dept stores like Debenhams, House of Fraser etc
It’s mostly the drugstore brands which can be harder to find imo
Definitely check out the MUFE HD foundation. And a lot of my overseas friends were having a HARD time getting their hands on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette, so maybe that, if that’s what you’re into?
I noticed in the UK Loreal is sold as a department store brand while in the US it’s sold as a drug store brand ( or is that elsewhere in EUROPE ?)If you like Loreal you can buy it cheaper here in the US esp on sale. MAC seems to be the same price here as there. Ulta is much cheaper esp if your friend can can hold of a coupon.
