i have EXTREMELY oily skin, and i need to wear makeup to cover up my blemishes. my current makeup routine consists of MAC’s studio fix fluid spf 15 followed by studio fix powder. i cleanse my skin thoroughly before applying makeup to make sure there are no traces of oil before i apply my makeup, and still, within minutes my face starts getting oily, SO oily. unlike normal people, it’s not just my t-zone that’s the problem, it’s my entire face. my cheeks and chin get very oily too. i go through 3-4 blotting sheets a day and i need to constantly dab my face with powder to cover the oil and by the end of the day my face starts looking caked up because i have to keep on applying powder.
summer’s coming soon and my face is going to get oiler than ever. during the heat i can tell my pores open a little, and i hate that because then i start breaking out because of the makeup. my oily skin also causes the makeup to oxidize, making me look darker a couple of hrs after having makeup on. can you guys please suggest something i can use to make my skin a little less oily? maybe a certain foundation type? i’ve heard of mattfying balms and things like that but i don’t even know if that’ll help. i want something i can use during the summer, almost everyday and i don’t want to have too many layers on my skin. i’m actually going to omit the liquid foundation during the summer so i don’t completely suffocate my pores. so please girls, help me out!
Use a mattifying balm Marwah.. it's ideal for people with very oily skin. No need to touch-up with powder.. switch to a "lighter" liquid foundation or how about u just use concealer and powder instead of foundation? Keep it sheer.. just dab concealer onto u're blemishes..blend really well and go over with loose powder.
switch to mineral make up. seriously. its light wont make u break out and its powder form so ur skin wont get much oily too but still it will so use mattifying serums like gina said. and mineral make up gives good coverage too so even if u have to put alot it deosnt look cakey.
and get a mattyfyng or oil control face powder for touch ups. u wont need to put alot of it so it wont look cakey.
i've tried mineral makeup, it didn't give me the look that my MAC makeup does. i feel like mineral makeup is good for people who already have nice skin..it didn't hide my flaws very well. i'll try the mattfying balm..where do i get it from?
This goes before u’re foundation.. I still suggest u stick to concealer and powder for summers. Cleanse u’re skin and tone it with tea tree toner.. that keeps skin shine-free too.
^ i was going to ask you about that. i’ve never used toner before and i found two that sounded good. i wasn’t sure which one i should get. i have oily blemished skin with a little discoloration. which toner would be best for me?
