Makeup for my baby shower?

Hi ladies!

My baby shower is this weekend and I am completely clueless about how I will do my makeup.

I am one of those people that rarely wares makeup partly because of lack of skill in makeup application and also a bit of laziness.

Anyway, I would like to get my makeup done at the mall but I don’t want to look “overdone” I still want to look natural and I also don’t want to spend a fortune. My budget is between $20 - $40.

Has anyone had their makeup done at Sephora, The Body Shop or any of the makeup counters at stores like Sears and The Bay?

Also it would help even more if someone has had it done at square one in Mississauga and can tell me about their experience. If I am posting it in the wrong forum I apologize. It was makeup for my baby shower so I posted it here.

Thanks ladies!

Re: Makeup for my baby shower?

You can try the MAC counter at the Bay at Square One. You have to buy $40 worth of make up from them. Sometimes they can get a little dramatic, but just let them know that you want something light and natural. My SIL got it done once from Chanel at the Bay, and she liked it. I cant remember how much she had to spend though.

I think you just need to go for a look that makes you look glowy/natural...getting makeup done at makeup counters can usually end up being a little heavy. Just be clear that you want your skin to look flawless - glowy, peachy...just perfect. Stay easy on the eye makeup and your lips should just look plump and tinted.

Natural you should look. flawless base, peachy cheeks, nude colors for eyes and lips. a lip gloss maybe. If not anything, you can direct the makeup artist as per you choice of the look. Tell her not to be heavy on base and eyes. you dont really want to give the impression of being so made up for the occasion.

Go to the MAC store in Square One. I've had mine done there and they will work to your specifications.
Tell them that you want a natural finish with a polished look.....that you don't want to look "done up". They are really great.
Again the cost is the same....buy $40/$50 worth of product and they do the make-up for free.
